How to Book Sand Online in Telangana

If you're building a home in Telangana, sand is one of the first big purchases on your list. It's also one of the easiest to get wrong. Prices swing, middlemen add their cut, and loads arrive short.

TSMDC sand booking fixes most of that. You order straight from the state through the SSMMS portal, pay a fixed price and know exactly where your sand is coming from.

At Hommea, we meet home buyers and self-builders every week who still pay a dealer premium simply because nobody showed them the online route. So here it is, in plain steps: how to register, how to book, what sand costs at Hyderabad's sand bazaars this year, and what to check before you pay.

What Is SSMMS, and Who Runs TSMDC Sand Booking?

SSMMS stands for Sand Sale Management and Monitoring System. It's the official portal at sand.telangana.gov.in, run by the Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation.

You'll still see the old name, TSMDC, in most searches. The corporation now goes by TGMDC, after the state switched its short form from "TS" to "TG". Same body, same portal, same login.

Under Telangana's sand policy, TGMDC handles excavation, stockyards and the sale of river sand, and the government fixes the sale price. SSMMS tracks every stage: the stockyard, transport to sub-stockyards and sand bazaars, your booking and the final delivery to your site. The system now runs at serious scale. TGMDC reported record revenue of over ₹1,000 crore in FY 2025-26, about 36% higher than the year before.

Ways to Book Sand on the SSMMS Portal

The portal now offers five routes for SSMMS sand booking. Pick the one that fits your project.

OptionWho it suits
Regular orderIndividuals building or renovating a home
Doorstep delivery (stockyard)Anyone who wants the load brought to site
Bulk orderGovernment works, contractors and registered firms
Sand bazaar (own or TGMDC transport)Buyers near Hyderabad and district towns who want a fixed price
MeeSeva or CSC centreAnyone who'd rather have an operator book for them

How to Register for TSMDC Sand Booking

Registration takes about five minutes. You only do it once.

  1. Go to sand.telangana.gov.in and open Registration > Customer Registration.
  2. Enter your mobile number and verify it with the OTP you receive.
  3. Fill in your name, address and the delivery site. Be precise with the site address, because that's where the truck is routed.
  4. Submit, then note your login details.

If you've applied on a government housing portal before, the OTP flow will feel familiar.

Booking bulk sand for government work or a private firm? Use the separate bulk application. It asks you to verify your Aadhaar UID or VID with an OTP before you can place orders.

How to Book Sand Online in Telangana, Step by Step

  1. Log in to the SSMMS portal with your registered mobile number.
  2. Choose your order type, then the stockyard or sand bazaar closest to your site.
  3. Select the sand type (coarse or fine) and the quantity in tonnes.
  4. Choose delivery: your own registered vehicle, or TGMDC transport.
  5. Pay online and download the receipt. Keep it on your phone for the day the truck arrives.

Good news on timing: Telangana sand booking online used to open only in short daily windows, and slots vanished in minutes. Since February 2025, booking is open round the clock. TGMDC also allocates stock on a randomised basis, so a handful of fast bulk buyers can't clear a yard at opening time. If your nearest stockyard shows nothing, check again later or try the next one.

Sand Bazaar Hyderabad Price 2026: TGMDC Fixed Rates

TGMDC sells sand at four Hyderabad sand bazaars for a fixed price all 365 days of the year: ₹1,600 per tonne for coarse sand and ₹1,800 per tonne for fine sand.

You can collect with your own transport or book TGMDC transport, which costs extra depending on distance. Confirm the transport charge on the portal before you pay.

The network is growing. TGMDC ran 17 sand bazaars across the state in FY 2025-26 and sold 3.71 lakh metric tonnes through them. New ones have since opened in districts such as Sangareddy and Jagtial. For comparison, private dealers in Hyderabad often quote ₹1,500 to ₹2,000 a tonne for river sand, before delivery.

Track Your SSMMS Sand Booking and Register a Vehicle

To check where your order is, open the Track Order option on the portal and enter your order ID. You'll see whether it's booked, dispatched or delivered.

Collecting with your own truck or tractor? Register it first under Registration > Vehicle Registration using its registration number. The portal also lets you check registered vehicles and update GPS details. Sort this out before you book, so the stockyard doesn't turn your vehicle away on loading day.

Hommea's Checklist Before You Book Sand

  • Get the quantity from your engineer: Over-ordering ties up cash on site. Under-ordering can stall a slab pour.
  • Match the sand to the job: Coarse sand goes into concrete and masonry. Fine sand is for plastering.
  • Pay only on the official portal, or at a MeeSeva or CSC centre. Never hand cash to an agent who offers to "book TSMDC sand" for you.
  • Check the load on arrival against your receipt before the truck leaves.
  • Ask about M-sand for RCC work: Manufactured sand is permitted for concrete under IS 383:2016, and it's often cheaper and more consistent.
