What Actually Happened, and When

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has sold his 46-acre equestrian estate in Powder Springs, Georgia, known as the "Magnificent Bullard Estate," for $6.1 million. He'd bought it for $9.49 million in October 2019, making this a $3.3 million loss on the original purchase price. Here's the part worth being upfront about: this sale closed on September 19, 2025, not recently. The story has resurfaced across several outlets this week, including the ones that prompted us to look into it, but the underlying transaction is a year old.

How the Sale Actually Played Out

Johnson first tried to sell the property in January 2021, listing it at $7.5 million. That listing sat for 10 months without a concrete offer before he pulled it. The estate went back on the market in August 2025 at a reduced $6.95 million, and it ultimately sold for $6.1 million the following month. Records reviewed by Realtor.com show Johnson purchased the property through an LLC but is listed as its sole owner.

What the Property Actually Offered

The main house runs close to 14,800 square feet, eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms, built in 2003 behind a private gated entrance. The equestrian facilities were the property's real selling point: a 12-stall barn, six fully fenced manicured pastures, and a professional-grade riding arena built for both jumping and flatwork. Beyond the horse setup, the estate included a resort-style pool, a wine cellar, a media room, and landscaped gardens designed for large-scale entertaining. The property previously belonged to actor Paul Reiser.

Why He Bought It, and Why He Let It Go

Johnson purchased the estate roughly two months after marrying his second wife, Lauren Hashian, and the equestrian setup was reportedly built around his daughter Jasmine's interest in horseback riding, something he's referenced publicly, including an Instagram post celebrating her progress in the sport. The practical reason for the sale seems straightforward. Johnson bought a $27.8 million home in Beverly Park, Beverly Hills, in 2021, and his work and family life have been centered in California since. By most accounts, he rarely used the Georgia property after that purchase, making a horse farm 45 minutes outside Atlanta a difficult asset to justify holding onto regardless of price.
