A Named Project, a Launch Date, and Real Numbers
Tonino Lamborghini SpA is entering Chennai's luxury housing market through Republic of Nature, a project developed by GTB Developers at Vadanemmeli on East Coast Road. The project is planned to launch November 13, 2026, and comprises 106 apartments and 23 villas spread across 11.5 acres. Apartments range from 3,750 to 7,000 sq ft, priced between ₹6 crore and ₹11 crore, while villas span 9,750 to 13,500 sq ft, priced from ₹18 crore to ₹28 crore.
The Feature Nobody Else Is Building
The genuinely distinctive detail here isn't the brand name, it's a planned 3.5-acre artificial lagoon, which GTB Developers describes as a first for India, developed with a Dubai-based lagoon specialist. Since regulations prevent private ownership of the natural beachfront along ECR, the development is building its own 20,000 sq ft recreational area styled as a private beach, reserved exclusively for residents. The project sits roughly a kilometre from the Sheraton Grand Resort, and a SeleQtions hotel by Indian Hotels Company Ltd is part of the broader Republic of Nature development.

How This Fits the Brand's Broader India Playbook
This isn't Tonino Lamborghini's first India project. In April 2026, the brand partnered with Signature Global on a 12.4-acre, 812-unit development in Gurugram's Sector 71, carrying an estimated investment of ₹2,891 crore. Under that structure, and reportedly this one too, Lamborghini's role covers brand licensing, design direction, and interiors, specifically communal spaces, club amenities, and furniture, while the local developer, GTB in this case, handles construction, approvals, and sales. GTB Managing Director Arun Bharathi Arunachalam said approvals are still awaited, and that Tonino Lamborghini is expected to attend the foundation stone-laying ceremony once cleared.

Why This Deal Was Already Expected
This announcement confirms something reported nearly a year earlier. Business Standard reported in November 2025 that Tonino Lamborghini was in advanced talks with developers in both Mumbai and Chennai. This GTB partnership appears to be that Chennai lead finally converting into a named, dated project, and per GTB, it may become the brand's first residential address in South India specifically.
What This Means If You're Evaluating a Branded Residence
The brand name attached to a project like this covers specific, defined elements, design direction and interior work on shared spaces, not the entire construction and delivery process, which remains GTB's responsibility. Before committing, confirm GTB's own RERA registration once filed, verify precisely what the Tonino Lamborghini agreement covers, and treat the lagoon and beach-style amenities as genuinely differentiated features worth evaluating on their own engineering and maintenance merits, not just as marketing language.
